Welcome to VExplain. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Description of Service

VExplain provides an AI-powered platform that transforms text and inputs into explanation videos using generative AI technologies. We utilize third-party services, including Google Cloud Platform and Gemini models, to provide these capabilities.

2. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use VExplain to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. You are strictly prohibited from generating deepfakes, misleading political content, or non-consensual sexual content. Violation of this policy will result in immediate account termination.

4. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of the input text and media you provide. Subject to applicable laws and third-party AI terms, you own the rights to the videos generated by your account.
Our Platform: VExplain, its software, and design are the proprietary property of VExplain and its licensors.

5. AI Disclaimer

Our services use artificial intelligence, which may occasionally produce incorrect, offensive, or biased content ("hallucinations"). VExplain makes no warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of the generated content. You should verify all information before relying on it.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture (via our auth provider, Clerk).
• Usage Data: Prompts, generated videos, and interaction logs.
• Payment Information: Processed securely by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We do not store full credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide the service, process payments, and improve our platform. Your input prompts are sent to our AI providers (e.g., Google) solely for the purpose of generating your requested content. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Processors

We share data with trusted third-party service providers to operate VExplain:

• Clerk: Identity and authentication.
• Paddle: Payment processing and Merchant of Record.
• Google Cloud/Gemini: AI model inference and infrastructure.
• Vercel: Hosting and analytics.

1. Subscription Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing cycle. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law.

2. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are generally not provided for "change of mind" or dissatisfaction with specific AI outputs, given the high cost of computing resources. However, if you experience technical issues preventing you from using the service, please contact us within 14 days of purchase. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
